Child Play Specialists

Child Play Specialist Job Description & Essential Activities

We’re looking for outgoing, energetic Child Play Specialists to join our team! Child Play Specialists implement our innovative S.M.A.R.T. Curriculum, adapting lesson plans to meet children’s individual needs and reflect their own talents. Child Play Specialists love our state-of-the-art facilities, clean and organized centers, training opportunities and being part of the finest early childhood program in the area. This is an excellent opportunity for new Child Play Specialists to gain experience from the industry’s most innovative program.

Learning Center Management

  • Accurately complete all tasks in the Center Operations Binder.
  • Guide children through positive language, positive reinforcement and redirection.
  • Ensure that the classroom is consistently Safe, Clean, Organized, Professional, Engaging and Educational (S.C.O.P.E - E).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, licensing regulations and required child to staff ratios.
  • Ensure that S.M.A.R.T. Curriculum is appropriately implemented daily.
  • Collect and maintain all paperwork required for licensing, accreditation and Marvelous Mind Academy procedural compliance.
  • Report all accidents to President.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are maintained (food, curriculum supplies...)

Child & Family Relations

  • Demonstrate warmth and affection towards all children in the center.
  • Ensure families’ satisfaction through regular communication and accessibility.
  • Communicate accreditation standards and processes to families.
  • Report all parent concerns promptly to company President.
  • Inform parents of center activities and upcoming events.
  • Attend Open House and required special events held by the center.
  • Promote your center within the community.
  • Contribute specific classroom information to personalize parent tours.
  • Review enrollment paperwork and complete New Student Checklist. 
  • Orient new families to the center.

Professional Development

  • Stay current on Marvelous Mind Academy policies, accreditation standards, early childhood education trends and other pertinent information.
  • Attend and participate in monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in community events.

Position Requirements

  • CPR & FIRST AID certified as of 1/2019  
  • Have earned or are willing to earn a CDA, Associate or Bachelor Degree in early childhood or related field
  • Understand early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
