About Our staff

WHAT IS A CHILD PLAY SPECIALIST?

A child play specialist is a person who helps facilitate learning through play by giving each child safe materials to explore in a safe environment.


WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

Our Child Play Specialists come highly recommended by trusted members of our community not because of what they know, but because of who they are.  Rest assure the people we employ to care for your children are CPR & First Aid Certified, have passed both state and federal background checks and most importantly are passionate about fostering lifelong learners.


WHAT IS YOUR CHILD TO STAFF RATIO?

To provide the safest most engaging experiences for your young learner, we keep our child to staff ratio at a modest 4:1.

About Our PROGRAMS

DO YOU HAVE A PRESCHOOL PROGRAM?

We are carefully choosing our educators and learning materials that will best serve our young learners.  The first cohort of preschoolers in our new facility will begin September 2020.


WHAT CURRICULUM DO YOU USE?

We are currently developing our own curriculum called The S.M.A.R.T. Curriculum.  S.M.A.R.T stands for Science, Math, Art, Reading and Technology.  S.M.A.R.T. will encapsulate all the foundational learnings necessary for a successful start from birth to age 6.


WHAT IS BRIDGE CARE?

Bridge Care is a member-based child care service that allows parents to schedule care at a moments notice day or night. It is designed to fill child care gaps that currently exist in a family's existing child care plan.   The best way we can describe it is, It's like having a highly overqualified babysitter on speed dial.  


ARE MEALS PROVIDED?

Healthy snacks are always available for our young learners and their families.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

We are open 7 days a week from 6am to 11pm.  (Opening Date is in April).


WHAT IF I NEED MORE THAN 3 HOURS?

Should the need for full-time daycare arise, we are part of an extraordinary network of amazing child care providers who are more than willing and capable to provide full-time child care.  


WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We're located in Village Gate next to Cater Trax where Mood Makers used to be.  The address is 274 N Goodman Rochester, NY 14607.  We're in Suite D110.


WHERE'S THE BEST PLACE TO PARK?

There is ample parking in Village Gate.  The closest entrance is Entrance D, by Cater Trax.  The most recognizable entrance is Entrance B, by Children's Institute.

HOW DO I ENROLL?

Click here.  Once we review the forms, we will send you a login to your parent portal.


HOW DO I SCHEDULE CARE?

Schedule child care right from the parent portal using your computer or the app on your mobile device.


MY CHILD IS NOT VACCINATED.  CAN WE STILL ENROLL?

Yes!  We respect parents' right to choose how to best care for their children. 


HOW OLD DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE TO ENROLL?

At least 6 weeks old.


CAN I REALLY GET CHILD CARE AT A MOMENTS NOTICE?

Yes!  We do everything we can to accommodate parent requests within the hour. 


WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CHILDREN YOU CAN HAVE IN YOUR SPACE AT A TIME?

The best learning environments are safe environments that foster opportunity for collaboration and independence.  In our Village Gate facility we can accommodate 22 young learners at a time.

About Special Considerations

DO YOU ACCOMMODATE CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

Yes!  We encourage you to schedule a site visit to familiarize yourself with our facility, staff and offerings.  If updates to our facility or programming are deemed necessary to ensure a safe and engaging experience for your child, we will rise to any feasible challenges.


DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO GET CHILD CARE?

No, but it is highly recommended.  Our non-member rate is $25 per hour.


DO YOU PROVIDE CARE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS?
